Discover Chile’s Coquimbo region, home to some of the clearest night skies on Earth and a coastline rich with wildlife. Explore the Elqui Valley’s pisco distilleries and pre-Columbian petroglyphs, stargaze through a telescope at the Mamalluca Observatory, and sail out to the Humboldt Penguin National Reserve to spot penguins, sea lions and dolphins along the Pacific coast.
Arrive in La Serena and transfer into the Elqui Valley, stopping at Valle del Encanto to see pre-Columbian petroglyphs and rock art. Continue to the pisco-producing village of Pisco Elqui for the evening.
Morning tour and tasting at a traditional pisco distillery, followed by an afternoon exploring the charming town of Vicuna, birthplace of poet Gabriela Mistral, with time to wander its plaza and local markets.
Free day to relax in the valley or hike nearby trails. After dark, visit the Mamalluca Observatory for a guided stargazing session through professional telescopes under some of the clearest, darkest skies in the world.
Morning boat excursion to the Humboldt Penguin National Reserve off Punta de Choros to see Humboldt penguins, sea lions and bottlenose dolphins, before your departure transfer.
